Tropical Cyclone Alfred: Emergency Preparedness for LifeGuard-Connected Villages

Tropical Cyclone Alfred has strengthened into a Category Two system and is expected to land between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast late Thursday or early Friday morning. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned of destructive winds, torrential rainfall, and the potential for life-threatening flash flooding across parts of Queensland and New South Wales.
As some of the villages we monitor fall within the projected impact zone, we want to remind village managers that our services remain fully operational and available to assist. Should your village require support during or following the cyclone, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Using the LifeGuard Manager’s Portal for Emergency Communication
The LifeGuard Manager’s Portal provides essential tools for village managers to communicate effectively with residents during emergencies:
Resident Notifications
Send critical messages that can be read aloud via compatible* LifeGuard alarm systems.
Emergency Evacuation Alerts
For compatible* devices, initiate an emergency evacuation alert and monitor resident responses in real time.
For guidance on using these features, please refer to our Manager’s Guide. This guide is also accessible from within in the portal under the Help (?) menu.
If you require further assistance from INS, such as making outbound calls to your residents, please contact us – we’re happy to assist. Some services may incur additional fees.
