Available across selected wearable and in-home devices, fall detection uses motion sensors to detect sudden falls automatically. An alert is sent to our 24/7 Emergency Response Centre or nominated emergency contacts when triggered. This feature is ideal for individuals who cannot call for help after a fall.

GPS Tracking

Many of our mobile and wearable alarms feature GPS tracking, which allows caregivers or responders to locate a user accurately in an emergency. This is especially valuable for individuals at risk of disorientation, wandering, or becoming lost.

Two-Way Communication

Built-in two-way voice communication enables users to speak directly with our nurses on call, even if they’re not near a phone. This feature ensures that help is always a voice away, even when the user cannot reach their device easily.

Health Monitoring and Medical Alerts

Through integration with supported devices like the Apple Watch, INS LifeGuardian® can continuously monitor vital signs such as heart rate, oxygen levels, and activity trends. If abnormal readings are detected, users receive suggested actions and the option to speak to a nurse. With user permission, our team can also be alerted to concerning changes in real time and proactively follow up.

An important distinction is that the alarms are not just handled by a call centre; the alarms triggered to INS LifeGuard are handled by highly trained Australian nurses.  Other features include automatic fall detection, GPS tracking, two-way communication, TeleHealth services, medication reminders, and geofence alerts.

Individuals may be eligible for a personal alarm under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) if they meet the scheme’s core criteria. This includes being aged between 9 and 65, holding Australian citizenship or a qualifying visa (such as a Permanent Resident or Protected Special Category Visa), residing in Australia, and living with a permanent and significant disability. 

If you’re not eligible for NDIS funding, you may still be able to access a personal alarm through other options, such as a Home Care Package (HCP) or by purchasing it privately.

Yes. You can use your NDIS funding to cover the costs of our in-home and on-the-go personal alarm systems.

The amount of NDIS funding depends on each person’s individual needs and circumstances. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) assesses these factors and creates a personalised plan that outlines the supports and services deemed reasonable and necessary.

INS LifeGuard is committed to supporting older Australians by providing advanced safety and assistive technology solutions, including personal safety alarms and automatic fall detection systems. You can purchase assistive technology independently, and depending on your eligibility, it can be provided through My Aged Care programs.

In an emergency, your patient can press the button on their LifeGuard SmartHome LGX, SmartLink Medi Guardian, or personal alarm. We also offer a Fall Sensor that automatically triggers an alert if a fall is detected.

That alert goes to a nurse at our 24/7 emergency response centre. The nurse can speak with your patient through a two-way speaker, even if they’re not right next to the alarm. The nurse has access to their medical history and personal details to assess the situation and decide on the right response.

Depending on what’s needed, the nurse will contact you, a family member, friend, neighbour, or emergency services. If there's no verbal response from your patient, an ambulance will be sent immediately.

While network conditions may affect voice quality, the signal will still reach us—and we’ll make sure help is on the way.
