Knowledge Base | INS LifeGuard

When INS LifeGuard receives an emergency alarm, we contact emergency services first, then your nominated emergency contacts, with your permission. ## Who is notified if I live in my own home? INS contacts emergency services, such as police, fire brigade or ambulance, depending on the situation. We then contact the emergency contacts you have given us permission to call, either at the time of the emergency or when you returned your Client Information Form to INS. ## Who is notified if I live in a village? INS follows the village protocols and summons emergency services (police, fire brigade or ambulance) depending on the situation. With your permission, we'll call the emergency contacts on your Client Information Form and/or the Village Manager. ## Can I choose who is called? You always have the final say. If during the emergency you say you don't want anyone called, INS will respect your wishes.* ## Will my family be notified through the app? If your emergency contacts use INS LifeGuardian Connect® and have the appropriate permissions, they receive a notification on their phone once INS LifeGuard has completed the alarm. *INS may still call the village to advise that an ambulance is attending, but won't provide details unless permission has been granted.
