Knowledge Base | INS LifeGuard

INS LifeGuard transmitters have a range of up to 50 metres in open space, depending on the type of transmitter. In many cases that covers the entire home, the front and back garden, and sometimes further. ## Are the transmitters certified? All transmitters supplied by INS LifeGuard are manufactured to comply with Australian Standard AS 4607. ## How do I test the range of my transmitter? 1. Take your transmitter to different rooms in your home, including the room furthest from the base unit. 2. Push the button to trigger an alarm. 3. You should hear the unit activate, and our nurse will speak to you over the unit. This also lets you check the call volume, get familiar with the system and get to know our friendly nurses. ## What affects the range? Range depends on environmental factors, such as the building materials in your home and even electrical appliances. ## Need help? If you're concerned about range or have specific questions, call INS on [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226).
