Jump to: Why Compliance Matters | Portal Features | Dashboard | User Roles | Switching Villages | FAQ ## The LifeGuard Manager's Portal is a free, secure web tool that gives village and community care managers everything they need to stay compliant, manage residents, and respond to incidents, at no cost to the village or its residents. ### [Why this matters for compliance](ANCHOR: Why Compliance Matters) Personal alarm monitoring in a retirement village is governed by state-based legislation (such as the Retirement Villages Act 1999 in NSW) and industry standards. At minimum, village operators must provide a compliant, 24/7 monitored emergency call system in every residential unit and common area, with equipment meeting AS 4607 and registered with ACMA. Operators also carry ongoing responsibilities: annual safety inspections, a clear emergency management plan, and a full evacuation drill every 12 months, a requirement that catches a lot of managers by surprise. The Manager's Portal is built to support all of this. It's offered at no cost to villages or residents, INS isn't aware of another provider offering this depth of portal access for free, some competitors charge for portal access at all. ### [Portal features](ANCHOR: Portal Features) - Real-time reports (Low Usage, Activations) for any date range - Update resident and client information directly (subject to resident consent) - Update village procedures and protocols, including staff contacts and how you want to be notified - Set up scheduled notifications via email or SMS - Manage Concierge Service requests - Set up tasks and reminders for individuals, groups, or all residents - Broadcast messages or community news - Super User accounts with a global view across multiple sites - Issue real-time Evacuation Alerts, drills or emergencies, with sirens and recorded announcements ### [Dashboard overview](ANCHOR: Dashboard) The dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your village's alarm activity. - Filter by alarm type using the pills above the graph, click a pill to remove that category (e.g. remove "Testing" to isolate real activity), click it again to bring it back. - Hover over a day on the graph to see how many alarms occurred and the response time. - Filter by device type or by a specific date range. - Pendants are tied to their base unit, an alarm triggered on the pendant counts as part of the base unit's stats. - Current Status shows mains fail, low battery, and missed check-ins. A missed check-in means the device hasn't connected to INS's servers within a 26-hour window (this includes if it's simply been unplugged). - Latest News shows updates INS shares with villages. - Management Services tiles on the dashboard are quicklinks also found in the sidebar. ### [User roles](ANCHOR: User Roles) - Super Users: for managing multiple villages, view data across all sites or by individual village - Village Managers: access to your specific village only - Village Staff: can access and modify village procedures and alarm-response information - Village Maintenance: a limited dashboard view (device statuses and a basic client list only), cannot edit client information, notifications, tasks, or activity monitoring - Group Managers (care organisations): access to group procedures and alarm-response information - Care Managers (care organisations): restricted to their specific managed clients Multiple staff can have their own login, your village manager requests this and INS sets up access for as many people as needed, each person also needs to be added under Contacts. ### [Switching between villages](ANCHOR: Switching Villages) If you manage multiple villages, switch between them using the profile icon at the top of the Portal. Next to it, a question mark icon links to useful resources. ## FAQ Q: How do I get access to the Manager's Portal? A: Email INS LifeGuard to request access, or have your village manager request it on your behalf. ## Still need help?
