Jump to: About the App | Testing | Smartwatch Widget | Troubleshooting | FAQ ## This guide covers testing, extending to a smartwatch, and troubleshooting the INS LifeGuardian® App, an all-in-one personal health and safety app connected to INS LifeGuard's 24/7 nurse-monitored response. ### [About the App](ANCHOR: About the App) INS LifeGuardian® integrates cutting-edge technology with 24/7 nurse support, ideal for people with medical conditions, lone workers, or anyone wanting peace of mind. It goes beyond a mobile alarm with advanced safety features and proactive health monitoring designed to help prevent emergencies. Download it free on Android or Apple. ### [Testing your alarm](ANCHOR: Testing) We recommend testing your alarm once a month, ideally on a day you'll remember, like the date of your birthday. Open the App and press the SOS button on the home screen. When the nurse responds, let them know you're testing. ### [Adding the alarm widget to a Wear OS smartwatch](ANCHOR: Smartwatch Widget) If you're using an Android Wear OS smartwatch and already have the App on your phone, you can extend it to your watch for quick access. (Apple Watch users don't need this, the iPhone and Apple Watch sync automatically, see the separate INS LifeGuardian® Watch guide instead.) 1. Open the INS LifeGuardian® app on your phone. 2. Tap Settings, scroll down, and select Tutorials. 3. Choose "Add alarm widget on your Watch (Wear OS)". 4. Tap "Install watch app" at the bottom of the screen. 5. Press the Install button that appears on your watch to finish. Once installed, add the widget to your watch face: press and hold on the watch face, tap Complications or Widgets (varies by model), then select the INS LifeGuardian® alarm widget and place it on your watch face. ### What should happen next After a successful test, you'll hear the App confirm the alarm and a nurse will speak with you. ### [Troubleshooting](ANCHOR: Troubleshooting) #### I can't hear the nurse when they call back. Alarm calls run through a built-in SIP client in the app, so audio is controlled by your media volume, not your normal phone call volume. Check your media volume isn't turned down or muted, then trigger another test alarm. If you're connected to external Bluetooth (headsets, speakers, car systems), try turning Bluetooth off and testing again. Alarm calls also need a data connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data), if there's no audio on Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data. Call [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226) if you're still having trouble. #### Why isn't INS receiving my health data? This can happen due to factors like no internet or Bluetooth connection, data-sharing permissions not granted, low battery or storage, background app refresh disabled, interference from other apps, or Low Power Mode / not wearing your watch. Keep your devices charged, connected, updated, and correctly configured to minimise this. Contact us on [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226) if problems persist. ## FAQ Q: Do you offer a mobile alarm app for my phone? A: Yes, the INS LifeGuardian® App. It's much more than a mobile alarm, with advanced safety features and proactive health monitoring. A free trial is available, download it on Android or Apple to get started, or call [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226) for more information. ## Still need help? Call INS LifeGuard on [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226), or [email us](mailto:lifeguard@theinsgroup.com.au).
