Installing your SmartLink Medi-Guardian MKII takes eight steps: choose a location, connect the power and antenna, switch the unit on, test your transmitter, then test daily for the first week and monthly after that. ## How do I install my SmartLink Medi-Guardian MKII? 1. **Unpack and choose a location.** Remove the SmartLink and power supply from the box. Find a suitable location with an easily accessible power point. Don't choose a damp location, such as a bathroom, or one near a heat source, such as an oven or stove top. Press the cord into one of the slots so it lies flat behind the unit. This can take up to two minutes. If not, contact INS for help programming it. Push the button on the transmitter, then walk around the home and test again in different rooms to find any limitations. It isn't always possible to receive a signal in every part of the home, because local interference affects transmission. 7. **Speak to the INS operator.** When you test the transmitter, the unit announces that your call is being connected, and you'll hear multiple beeps when it's received. Wait for an INS operator to call back over the unit and speak to you through the loudspeaker. Clearly state your name and that you are testing. If voice contact fails, the operator will try your landline or mobile number. If you don't receive a call, contact INS LifeGuard on [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226). 8. **Keep testing.** Once the unit has tested successfully, test daily for the first week, then monthly. ## Need help?
