Knowledge Base | INS LifeGuard

The cost of an INS LifeGuard service depends on the system you choose, whether you need professional installation, and any extra features or devices. In-home alarms are on a monthly lease, mobile alarms are bought outright, and the INS LifeGuardian® app needs no extra hardware. ## How much do in-home alarm systems cost? Our in-home alarm systems are provided on a monthly lease. INS LifeGuard keeps ownership of the equipment, so there is no large upfront equipment purchase. When you no longer need the system, return the equipment to INS LifeGuard. Once we've received it and finalised your service, your ongoing charges stop. You can choose between: - **Professional installation:** a technician attends your property to install and test the system. - **Self-installation:** the system is supplied ready to connect, with a lower establishment fee. In-home systems are designed to be straightforward to install. If you or a family member need help, call [1800 636 226](tel:1800636226) and our team will guide you through setup and confirm everything is working. After installation there is one ongoing monthly service fee. ## How much do mobile personal alarms cost? Mobile personal alarms, including the SmartTracker and SafetyWatch, work differently from in-home systems. They are purchased outright and owned by you, so there is a higher initial equipment cost followed by a lower ongoing monthly service fee. Customers who combine an in-home alarm system with an eligible mobile alarm service may also receive a discounted monthly rate for the mobile service. ## How much does the INS LifeGuardian® app cost? The INS LifeGuardian® app turns your compatible mobile phone into a personal alarm system. You use your own phone, so there is no separate alarm hardware to buy. You simply pay for the ongoing INS LifeGuardian® service. The app can also be paired with a compatible smartwatch for additional safety, health and monitoring features. ## What does the INS LifeGuardian® Watch cost? If you'd like the full capabilities of INS LifeGuardian® but don't own a compatible smartwatch, the INS LifeGuardian® Watch option may suit you. It lets the cost of an eligible smartwatch be bundled with the ongoing INS LifeGuardian® service. ## Who answers my alarm? Whichever system you choose, your alarms are answered through the INS LifeGuard 24-hour Emergency Response Centre by experienced nurses and other qualified healthcare professionals. Our clinical team can help with emergency alarms, provide reassurance and support, and help with general health or medication-related enquiries where appropriate. ## Are there hidden costs or lock-in contracts? No. INS LifeGuard services have: - no hidden costs - no lock-in contracts - no charge for calls made to INS LifeGuard through your alarm system - the flexibility to discontinue your service when you no longer need it ## How can I pay, and is funding available? You can pay monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually. Depending on your eligibility and circumstances, funding may also be available through programs such as: - Department of Veterans' Affairs - Support at Home - Home Care Packages - NDIS - Other approved funding arrangements Our team can help you understand the options and find the INS LifeGuard solution that suits you.
